Chicken from Donna's Caribbean

Residents can grab everyday necessities at Ives Dairy Crossing, home to a Publix for groceries and retail stores like Dollar Tree, Walgreens and Rainbow Shops. A taste of the islands can be found just across the street at Donna’s Caribbean, known for its chicken wings and yellow rice. The area features a unique layout, with a mix of standard right-angle and gently curved streets, adding character to the neighborhood landscape. Sidewalks and palm trees line the streets, with plenty of yard space and greenery to keep things colorful. Houses in Sierra are primarily single-story ranch styles built in the 1950s and 1960s, but bright exteriors and mixed design elements give the neighborhood plenty of charm. Clean, modern styles share the streets with classic, Spanish-inspired homes sporting clay roof tiles and arched entrances. Homes in Sierra don’t enter the market often but are generally priced at or below average for Miami Gardens, ranging from $380,000 to $500,000 depending on size and condition. Music at Greynolds Park

When October rolls around, many head to Greynolds Park off Northeast 22nd Avenue for the Love in Music Festival, a ticketed live concert event for a day of local rock band shows. The park also hosts the Free Monthly Bluegrass Festival, held on the first Sunday of every month.

The Snake Creek Canal is a popular local spot for fishing and kayaking, but those looking to stay dry can enjoy Snake Creek Trail, a paved greenway along the canal’s edge, stretching 6.5 miles.
