Suburban neighborhood with access to retail
Erected in 1844 by Randall H. Leming, a descendant of Miami Township’s earliest settlers, the Leming House still stands on the outskirts of downtown Milford, Ohio. Once surrounded by miles of farmland, today it represents the unofficial center of Mount Repose, a suburban neighborhood home to just under 5,000 people. Although primarily residential, made up of a network of quiet streets and cul-de-sacs, U.S. Highway 28 offers easy access to local big-box shopping centers. To reach the larger city of Cincinnati, about 25 miles away, residents will have to make the 30-minute commute to major area employers like Kroger and Cincinnati Children’s. In general, Realtor Patrick Lach says it’s a welcoming type of place. “In all of the Cincinnati area, really, the question isn’t ‘What college did you go to?' it’s ‘What high school did you go to?’ It’s close-knit. If I run into someone, it’s likely they know 90% of the people I know.”

Mid-century homes and New Traditionals
The majority of homes in Mount Repose were built between 1950 and 1980 and prospective buyers will find styles reflective of the era: split-levels, bi-levels and ranch-style houses with shuttered windows ranging from just under $200,000 to $350,000. However, there are also pockets of post-2000 New Traditionals here and these larger properties — which often boast two-car garages — can sometimes sell for upwards of $500,000. Lot sizes within the neighborhood are generous, typically around 16,000 square feet, and families have enough room for front yard games of catch, basketball hoops and vegetable gardens. The neighborhood’s CAP Index Crime Score is a 3 out of 10, which is slightly below the national average of 4, and it's common to find kids bicycling down the streets or walking to and from school.

My parents are from Milford.” According to Clements, one of the area’s appeals is its old-fashioned Main Street, complete with a shoe repair shop, dry cleaners and Harvest Market, a small-town grocery store.
