"It's quieter and residential, but Market Street has stores you can visit, so it's pretty balanced." The borough is bordered to the east by Philadelphia, which provides residents with the vast range of amenities afforded by that city. For those seeking a slightly smaller urban destination, Upper Darby is about 2 miles west and is home to its own collection of retail and dining establishments.. "It's friendly," Siddique says of Millbourne. "People come to the borough and live here for a long time."

There are over a dozen green spaces within a mile or two of Millbourne. In Upper Darby, the Cardington Recreation Area is a pocket-sized park with a playground and a playing field, and the larger 69th Street Recreation Area features baseball fields and another playground. Nearby, the Laura Sims Skate House was the first ice-skating rink in the country built in a predominately Black community by a Black architect.
