Millbourne is an independent borough in Delaware County with a diverse cultural community and walkable access to shopping, parks and Millbourne Station. "It's a close community because it's such a small borough," says Aphia Siddique, Millbourne's administrative assistant. "It's quieter and residential, but Market Street has stores you can visit, so it's pretty balanced." The borough is bordered to the east by Philadelphia, which provides residents with the vast range of amenities afforded by that city. For those seeking a slightly smaller urban destination, Upper Darby is about 2 miles west and is home to its own collection of retail and dining establishments.. "It's friendly," Siddique says of Millbourne. "People come to the borough and live here for a long time."

Rentals and rowhouses
Dating to the early- to mid-20th century, Millbourne's housing is a mix of rowhouses, multifamily dwellings, including duplexes and triplexes, and a few single-family homes; many are minimal traditional or colonial-inspired with features like bay windows, decorative cornices and prominent porches with columns. These homes are typically set along narrow, sidewalk-lined streets with limited space between neighbors. Most residents here are renters, and homes rarely go on the market. Prices range from about $200,000 to $300,000, depending on a home's size and renovation needs.
