Most of the neighborhood is made up of residential properties, with single-family homes dominating the overall landscape. “You might call Columbine Cliffs a bedroom community. It’s mostly residential,” DeFrancesco says. “It’s very green, and there are a lot of nice houses – older homes from the early 1900s with a lot of character. There are some Craftsman bungalows and smaller Cape Cods, but there are also a lot of large colonial houses on spacious lots.” Many backyards are big enough to accommodate in-ground swimming pools, and tall pines and oak trees shade the tightly woven residential streets. The median price is around $775,000, which is above the national median. Some homes near the eastern Milton Village begin around $650,000, but many throughout the neighborhood rise above the $1 million threshold.A riverside atmosphere influences outdoor recreation in Columbine Cliffs

The Neponset Trail traces the flow of the river along the northernmost edge of the neighborhood, leading east to the Milton Boat Ramp.Milton Academy is a top-rated private school

Interstate 93 is the closest major highway, leading directly into downtown Boston. Commuters who wish to avoid the infamous traffic can take Blue Hill Avenue, a backroad that is often less busy.
