Welcome to Longfellow
Established in the 1880s, Longfellow borrows its name from American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, whose work “The Song of Hiawatha” made Minnehaha Falls famous worldwide. Today, the neighborhood is a shopping hot spot rich in natural spaces. The area offers an eclectic mix of coffee shops, pubs and entertainment. Longfellow residents also love to get outdoors, biking and jogging along the Mississippi River or the Hiawatha LRT Trail. It’s also easy for locals to get around via the Metro Blue Line, which provides simple commuting from Target Field in the north to both Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and the Mall of America in the south. In addition, the community is highly walkable, with shopping, groceries, dining and public transportation all within walking distance from most homes.
