What homebuyers often pay for bungalows, Tudor-style homes and others

Many Windom Park homes were built in the early to mid-1900s. Craftsman-style bungalows, Tudor-style homes, American Foursquares and Cape Cods are among the available styles. Several of them have been upgraded with modern amenities over the years, while keeping their original looks, and often come with detached garages. The median sale price is in the upper $300,000s, with homes generally ranging from the mid-$100,000s to the mid-$500,000s. Duplexes draw interest from both owner-occupants and investors, and can run from the mid-$100,000s to the upper $600,000s. The neighborhood tends to be slightly more expensive than surrounding communities like Holland and Northeast Park, and it is roughly on par with Audubon Park and Logan Park. Around half of residents are renters, who often live in apartments and condos.

The area’s concrete residential roads are lined with trees whose leaves change color with the season. Sidewalks make it easy to get to a neighbor’s house, and streets like Fillmore Street Northeast are bike boulevards. Front yards are typically grassy and can have a few plants and small trees.

Sports fields, a golf course and the Mississippi River are nearby

The namesake Windom Park is the heart of the neighborhood. The green space has a baseball and softball diamond, a soccer field, tennis and basketball courts, a recreation center, a picnic area and a wading pool. When temperatures drop, the park’s ice rink is used for both hockey and casual skating. It’s also the site of Windom Park Citizens in Action’s Movie in the Park series, which provides free outdoor screenings of family-friendly films. Nearby, Northeast Athletic Field Park is home to a water park and a bike skills course in addition to its sports facilities, and Columbia Park is a popular sledding spot each winter. Francis A. Gross Golf Club has a public, 18-hole course and offers lessons.

The neighborhood is around 3 miles from Boom Island Park, where people can get views of downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River. Walking and biking paths cut through the park and connect to the city’s broader trail system, and you can use your canoe or kayak at the park’s boat launch. To the west, the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District has several galleries and exhibits to explore.

Houses are typically built close together however the lots are rectangular allowing for people to have a nice size yard. The large majority of homes are well maintained with a manicured front lawn. There is also a very low percentage of abandoned homes in NE Minneapolis.

A common item found in Twin Cities wardrobes is a pair of spandex. People run and bike year round and it's perfect for both activities. The weather is typically nice, the sun never seems to stop shining and there are rarely any natural disasters or bad storms.

I always see people running biking and walking. It's the norm for people to excercise and buy healthy foods especially organic. There are quite a few urgent cares in the NE area and HCMC is located right in downtown which is less than a 10 minute drive from the heart of NE Minneapolis.
