Boulder Creek Park lies in the neighborhood’s south side along Scenic Road and is home to a baseball field, a basketball court, a playground and a roller-skating rink. The Purgatory Community Preserve is the largest community park in Minnetonka, with 155 acres of woods, wetlands and hiking trails. According to local legend, the preserve got its name when early settlers came upon its mosquito-ridden swamps and wetlands that were a challenge to traverse.
