Newer homes tend to be late 20th-century modern or 21st-century traditional and include features like a view of the neighborhood's namesake lake. Spring Lake is almost entirely residential, with no significant shopping options in its limits. Many residents take advantage of the retail at Ridgedale Center, about 4 miles north, which has Target, Macy's and several franchise restaurants and big-box stores.
