Modest midcentury split-levels alongside 21st-century traditional designs
Narrow streets bend through hilly residential zones shaded by mature oak and maple trees. Homes on quarter- to full-acre lots provide privacy and additional greenery. "Most of the city was developed in the '50s, so midcentury is the majority style," Frick says. "The newer homes command high prices because they have modern amenities like walk-in closets." Midcentury split-level and ranch-style homes range between the mid-$300,000s and the high $600,000s, depending on size, location and level of renovation. Newer homes tend to be late 20th-century modern or 21st-century traditional and include features like a view of the neighborhood's namesake lake. These styles run from the low $700,000s to the mid-$900,000s.
