Finding a home in the area can sometimes take a while. “People that definitely want to be in the Rattlesnake have to be prepared to wait because there’s not going to be a lot of inventory. It’s just harder to get in there,” Rye says. Homes in the neighborhood typically cost between $500,000 and $750,000.Natural recreation all around Lower Rattlesnake

The park also has a large picnic pavilion and playground. In the neighborhood’s southeast corner, the Mount Jumbo trailhead offers access to vast open areas in the Rattlesnake Mountains. While there are multiple trails to explore here, the most popular is a 1.7-mile hike leading to a large concrete L, representing the local Catholic school, Loyola Sacred Heart High School. Pineview Park is another draw for outdoor recreation, just north of the neighborhood. “You have a park back there with anything you could imagine. It has tennis courts and a playground. In the winter, the neighborhood builds a little ice rink. It’s idyllic,” Rye says. More hiking trails are available north of the neighborhood in the Rattlesnake National Recreation Area & Wilderness.
