The park also has walking trails, playgrounds and large picnic shelters. Fort Missoula is a former U.S. Army Fort that is part of the facility. The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula is a 32-acre historic site with 20 buildings and over 50,000 artifacts detailing its history from its founding in 1877. Golf lovers can tee off at the nearby Larchmont Golf Course, a par-72 course known for its well-kept greens and views of the mountains surrounding Missoula. Boating, floating and fishing on the Clark Fork and Bitterroot Rivers are also popular activities in the area. The closest access point is on the north end of Tower Street, and there is a boat ramp on Lena Lane west of the community. Just southwest of the neighborhood, Blue Mountain Recreation Area is a 4,900 natural area with 41 miles of trails. Two Rivers is just minutes from popular restaurants at the south end of Reserve Street. “There are some restaurants by the Cabela’s right over there. Five on Black is a fast-casual spot, but it’s healthy and good. Missoulians really like it,” says McGillis. This local fast-food restaurant serves Brazilian-themed bowls with ingredients like churrasco chicken and chimichurri. Wheat Montana is another popular restaurant on 3rd Street just north of the neighborhood. This casual bakery serves hot and cold sandwiches and fresh baked goods like cinnamon rolls and muffins. Southgate Mall is the largest indoor shopping center in the city and is just 1 mile east of the neighborhood, home to stores like Scheel’s, Dillard’s and American Eagle. The mall also has an AMC movie theater. Stores like Best Buy, REI, Costco and Target line North Reserve Street just north of the Clark Fork River. Groceries are available in the center of the neighborhood at WinCo Foods or Rosauers Supermarkets.
