A laid-back home base in Prince George's County
Commuters who work throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia often set up Mitchellville as a low-key home base. “It’s convenient to everything within the DMV area," says Monica Bryant, a Realtor with Century 21 who's lived in the area for decades. She says, “The Beltway is right there. You’re 20 minutes from D.C., and you’re about 30 minutes from Annapolis and Virginia.” Residences are also near shopping centers, golf courses and an amusement park, and houses are organized into neat subdivisions.
Ranch-style homes and Colonial Revivals on peaceful streets
Most of Mitchellville's homes were built in the late 1900s and early 2000s. Homebuyers find neat subdivisions featuring curving streets lined with single-family homes. Ranch-style houses, Colonial Revivals with brick and vinyl siding and colonial-inspired townhouses make up most of Mitchellville's housing inventory.
