One of Mitchellville's biggest green spaces is the 18-hole Enterprise Golf Course, a public facility that's open year-round. Just to the east, golfers may join the private Country Club at Woodmore, which has an 18-hole course, tennis courts and swimming pools. “There’s also a great park called Watkins Park,” Bryant says. “It’s great to take kids to. There’s a train and a petting zoo there too.” The petting zoo, called Old Maryland Farm, is an educational space where children learn about plants and animals. Watkins Park also has multiple playgrounds and a network of shaded nature trails. For more adventurous weekends, the roller coasters, water park and kiddie rides at Six Flags America are about 5 miles south of Mitchellville.
