Greenwich Hills
Suburban Mobile charm with lower-priced homes
“Greenwich Hills is one of the biggest value areas in Mobile,” says Rudzinsky, “the community has decent-size yards, and homes are continuing to get nicer.” Homes are accompanied by large front and back yards, and cul-de-sac lots are more spaced out by larger side yards. Three-bedroom 1960s brick ranch-style homes make up the older heart of the neighborhood, ranging from $130,000 to $160,000. Streets of newer homes have been built off Cottage Hill Road on the neighborhood’s south end. The four-bedroom Colonial-Inspired Craftsman homes are about $425,000, with large driveways and manicured landscaping.Short trip to Fonde Elementary
Neighborhood students may attend Mobile County Schools, which receive a B-minus overall from Niche. Kids begin at Elizabeth Fonde Elementary, graded a C, less than a mile from many homes. They move on to Chastang-Fournier K-8 School, rated a C-minus. Students round out their education close to home at Davidson High, given a B-plus. Davidson students can learn about the field of law by joining the Warrior Law Club.Basketball and tennis courts a mile away
Residents can walk or drive to outdoor activities around the area. Folks play pick-up games and tennis matches on the courts at Stotts Park, on the neighborhood’s south end. On a sunny day, folks relax and play at Malibar Heights Park, a grass field shaded by tall pines.Shopping center 3 miles away
Folks drive less than a mile to check off their grocery list at Walmart Neighborhood Market or Greer’s, a regional chain.
