Bungalows and capes in the shade
“The houses out that way tend to have large yards,” says Jeff Jones, Realtor with Keller Williams Mobile. “The average lot size is a quarter to a third of an acre.” The extra space appeals to buyers who have growing families or pets. “Most of the homes were built in the last 30 years, with a lot of brick construction,” adds Jones, who hosts the podcast Living in Mobile, Alabama. Although most residential streets feature plenty of shade, sidewalks are a rarity here, so joggers and dog walkers beware. Most homes in Kimberline don’t include basements either, primarily because of the area’s high water table. Homes in Kimberline typically cost between $200,000 to $300,000. Bungalows and capes are standard, and many properties include built-in carports and driveways. The airport proximity can be appealing for frequent travelers, but all that air traffic might be a concern for families settling in the area.
