Armada
Neighborhood in Moreno Valley, California
Riverside County 92551, 92553
From remodeled manufactured homes to contemporary housing
The earliest of Armada's homes were constructed between 1980 and 1990, and new homes have been built on vacant lots sporadically throughout the 21st century. Architecture is wildly varied here, with manufactured homes and Southern California ranch styles sharing the same block with Spanish Revival-inspired and New Traditional housing. Generally, homes sit on quarter-acre lots adorned with tall native palms and Italian cypress. Renovated manufactured homes can sell as low as $150,000 to $200,000, but typically, selling prices for the neighborhood sit between $450,000 and $600,000.Afternoons at Woodland Park and watersports at Lake Perris
Woodland Park is a go-to for locals, offering diverse recreational options. It offers two playgrounds, one designed with safety features for much younger children, alongside basketball and tennis courts, a baseball field, walking paths and plenty of open green space. Just 6 miles south of Armada is Lake Perris State Recreation Area, which covers over 8,800 acres of water, beach areas and scenic hilly landscape. Boating and fishing are popular at the lake, and there are miles of combined hiking and biking trails that wind through the area's rocky terrain.Quick access to Armada Elementary and exploring careers at Vista del Lago High School
Armada falls under the Moreno Valley Unified School District, and the namesake Armada Elementary School is located within the neighborhood, given a C-plus on Niche. Kids can move on to Badger Springs Middle School, which gets a C, before heading to B-rated Vista del Lago High School. As of 2023, Vista del Lago offers six career pathways for students to explore to help them prepare for education past high school. The high school also offers the Middle College Program in partnership with the River Community College District, allowing students to take core high school courses and college classes.Main thoroughfares, public transport and nearby healthcare
Iris and Cactus avenues, two of the city's main roads, border the neighborhood. Iris Avenue and Perris Boulevard, which bracket Armada's west side, are lined with bus stops from Riverside Transit Agency. Ontario International Airport, located 27 miles northwest of Armada, offers several commercial airlines. The Riverside University Health System provides a wide range of specialty and emergency care just a few miles away.Grabbing a drink at Rene's and quick trips to the Moreno Valley Mall
The neighborhood has a few small strip plazas lining Perris Boulevard, which is filled with regional grocery stores, small local pupuserias and Mexican restaurants. At the corner of one of these unassuming strips is Rene's Bar and Grill, a low-key favorite for its draft beers, steak dinners and jukebox tunes. For more shopping options, many will drive or take public transport about 5 miles to Moreno Valley's north side, which has a huge retail and dining district. Anchored by the Moreno Valley Mall, the surrounding plazas are filled with stores like Target, Walmart and Costco.
