Morgandale offers an industrial suburban setting next to Warren
Home to approximately 1,400 residents, Morgandale is a small community on the outskirts of Warren. It offers a more secluded lifestyle close to a flourishing city center. “Warren has really grown. We’re getting more businesses; downtown is picking up. It’s close to Cleveland and Pittsburgh. It’s a great place to live," says Marla Bluedorn, who works with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Stouffer Realty and has about five years of experience in the area. Morgandale is only 3 miles from Warren's historic shopping hub and more city attractions.
Ranch-style homes and split-levels in Morgandale
The community’s residential areas are mostly on its east side, along with some retail and strip malls, and an industrial section of manufacturers and suppliers in the center. Residential roads here have a secluded rural feel. On these quiet streets, many of the houses have a few maple trees in the front yards and woodsy backyards. Prices range from about $90,000 to $250,000, including mostly midcentury ranch-style homes, Cape Cods and split-level homes. The area’s median sales price is $117,000, compared to Warren’s median of $151,000.
Local restaurants and stores on Elm Road
Elm Road, a main thoroughfare on the community’s east side, offers an array of stores and restaurant options. The family-owned Enzo's Restaurant & Banquet Center serves Italian food in a relaxed lounge setting, plus there’s a banquet hall available to rent for events. “Enzo’s is wonderful; they have great sauce. There are a lot of good restaurants here,” Bluedorn says. More eateries include the laidback El Torero Mexican Restaurant and the casual Chinese spot Chef Chen Restaurant. The area’s shopping ranges from the wine store Cork & Cap Bottle Shop & Tasting Room to a Walgreens pharmacy. In the Warren Plaza strip mall, there’s a Giant Eagle Supermarket located south of Morgandale.
Downtown Warren has a historic retail district and more attractions nearby. “You’re only a few miles from downtown, the amphitheatre and Robins Theater. It's really nice,” Bluedorn says. Warren Community Amphitheatre often has live music, especially tribute bands in the summertime. Robins Theater is an Italian Renaissance building with more concerts as well as movies throughout the year.
