Melody Hill
Ramblers, contemporaries, condominiums and apartments
Melody Hill has one-story ramblers, split levels and daylight ramblers, which have basements or garages that open on the lower floor. "The oldest homes are from the mid-1950s to the '70s. It's just one of those things where you are seeing the older styles — some purists like to maintain or restore homes," says James Hemphill Jr., a managing broker with eXp Realty. Newer homes built from the 2000s and on are typically two- and three-story contemporaries or traditionals with attached multicar garages. Prices for single-family homes are in the $400,000s to $900,000s.Condominiums are another option. One of the complexes, Villaje de Madera Condos, dates to the late 1970s and has a clubhouse and community pool. In recent years, condos have been in the $300,000s. Apartments make up a significant share of the neighborhood's housing.
Shopping centers, the SR-99 corridor and the Town Center
Neighborhood shopping centers, Terrace Village and Melody Hill Village have stores and restaurants like Fork Mediterranean Grill, Azteca Mexican Restaurant and O'Houlies Pub, which has pool tournaments, themed parties and bingo and karaoke nights. A WinCo Foods and more stores are less than a mile away along the commercial corridor of Washington state Route 99. The Swedish Edmonds Campus medical facilities are west of SR-99.A couple of miles to the southeast is Mountlake Terrace's Town Center. In addition to some shops and restaurants, it includes the civic center, the public library, Veterans Memorial Park and the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center.
Ballinger Lake, the Nile Shrine Center and Lake Washington are close
Some of the closest recreational facilities to Melody Hill are the Olympic View Arena ice-skating rink and The Nock Point, an archery range. Several miles south of the neighborhood is Ballinger Lake. "Not to understate or overstate the appeal of boating and wakeboarding, but the most important thing to know about that is there's a lot of water sports," Hemphill Jr. says. The lake is part of Ballinger Park, which has a playground and fields. The adjacent Nile Shrine Center is a Shriners' facility with a public golf course, and a bar and grill. The center hosts concerts, poker nights, pub crawls, movie nights and the Nile Nightmares Haunted House. The north shore of Lake Washington, the largest lake in the state, is about 5 miles from Melody Hill.
B and B-plus schools in the Edmonds School District

Community Transit buses stop in the neighborhood on 66th Avenue West and 228th Street Southwest. Connections to King County Metro and Sound Transit routes are available from the transit center and the park and ride.A Sound Transit Link light rail station opened in Mountlake Terrace in 2024. The Link's 1 Line goes from Lynnwood City Center to Angle Lake, with stops at over a dozen Seattle neighborhood stations and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which is about 27 miles south of Melody Hill.
