Getting around Muncie
Meadow Park is mostly car-dependent. Residents typically drive the 3 miles east to downtown Muncie using West Jackson Street or West White River Boulevard. It takes 10 minutes to drive regardless of the route. Public transportation is available via MITS and takes about 30 minutes. Cyclists can commute via the White River Greenway Trail. The closest medical center, IU Health Memorial Hospital, is 2 miles away. Air travel requires a trip to Indianapolis International Airport, 72 miles away, or the Fort Wayne International Airport, 73 miles away.

Spanish immersion at West View Elementary
West View Elementary School, a C-plus-rated school on Niche, is known for its dual language program, where students are taught in Spanish for up to 80% of their school day. The school also hosts student teachers from Ball State University and partners with Second Harvest Food Bank for a monthly food pantry to provide for West View Elementary families. After West View, students continue to the C-plus-rated Northside Middle School and B-minus-rated Muncie Central High School, where they can take dual enrollment classes with Ivy Tech Community College and play in its award-winning marching band.Shopping and restaurants along Tillotson Avenue
Shops and restaurants are located a mile east along Tillotson Avenue. Here, local restaurants like Puerto Vallarta, a traditional Mexican restaurant known for its margaritas, sit alongside chains like Taco Bell, Arby's and KFC. The Heartland Business Center is also on Tillotson and houses Ninja of Japan and Dumpling House, a Chinese restaurant, and popular chains Little Caesars and Wingstop. There is also a Pay Less Super Market for groceries. This strip mall also has an F45 Training studio, Great Clips and retailers like Sherwin Williams and Weston's Appliance. Coffee spots are plentiful in the area, including Starbucks, Dunkin', 7 Brew's drive-through, and Café at the Crossing, which serves breakfast pastries and lunch specials like salads and paninis. Prescription pickups are available along Tillotson from CVS or Walgreens.

Arts and culture in downtown Muncie
Downtown Muncie, 3 miles away, puts on regular events for residents to engage with local arts, culture and community. On the first Thursday of every month, the city hosts a downtown art crawl where galleries and venues showcase local artists. In the summer, Canan Commons hosts the Muncie Three Trails Music Series, a collection of free outdoor concerts by nationally acclaimed artists. Throughout the year, the Muncie Civic Theatre puts on musicals and plays in a historic 1800s venue.

Walk or bike the White River Greenway to Westside Park
Directly south of the neighborhood, the White River Greenway's paved path runs a mile and a half along the river and through trees to Westside Park. The park contains a baseball diamond, basketball courts and playgrounds, but visitors value it just as much for its views of the river and shady spots to relax. Lunsford maintains it is a popular spot for artists like herself and for community meet-ups.
