Throughout Town and Country’s winding neighborhoods, the streets converge around neighborhood parks named after the different subdivisions. Woodlands Park belongs to the Woodlands subdivision, offering a playground where kids can play together within walking distance of homes. Spanning 49 acres, Longmeadow Park attracts visitors to its athletic amenities, with standard soccer and baseball fields alongside a pit for gaga ball. Beyond Town and Country, Keith Mione Community Park offers 153 acres of green space, with a community garden full of flowers and produce grown by dedicated individuals. Commuting to downtown Chicago from the Mundelein Metra
Illinois State Routes 83, 60 and 176 all run alongside Town and Country’s borders, connecting it with the rest of Mundelein. Fresh produce at Mundelein Farmers Market
From June to October, the Mundelein Farmers Market sets up along Park Street and Seymour Avenue on Saturday mornings. “The farmers market is popular with residents because they can purchase fresh produce and enjoy the outdoors,” says Scott Adams, president of the GLMV Chamber of Commerce. “We have an art fair in September that draws many residents too. All the events allow residents to slow down and enjoy what the community has to offer.” The Fine Arts Festival also offers live music, and artists enter in a competition judged by a jury. High school students also have the opportunity to showcase their work, along with the chance to earn a scholarship.
