Quiet south Naperville living among close neighbors
Though located along Route 59—one of Naperville's main commercial drags—the intimate, roughly 1,400 resident community of Harmony Grove provides a fair bit of privacy and peace for longtime homeowners and newcomers alike. These sizeable custom homes are within walking distance to local ponds and a short drive north to downtown Naperville. Thanks to their active homeowners association, residents receive discounted or exclusive services from local vendors to keep their landscaping neat and enhance their curb appeal. This, along with a low CAP overall crime score of 1 out of 10 compared to the national average of 4, make for a fast-moving market where those interested in joining the community are faced with some competition.

Custom-built homes with pond access
While other areas of Naperville may have been developed in the 1970s or 80s, this neighborhood is still settling in. “Harmony Grove is a community built in the late nineties and into the millennium, with more modern construction for the Naperville area,” says Eva Burns, associate broker at Re/Max of Naperville with selling experience all over the city. “The homes have really beautiful lots and landscaping, and buyers invited builders into the neighborhood when it was first built, so they’re all custom, not semi-custom.” Though these designs stick to a similar script—colonial and New Traditional influences, large street-facing windows and two-to-three gar garages—each brings their individual twist, whether it’s a large back patio or a front door pushed in under sturdy eaves. Local vendors like A.J. Guzman, Cedar Rustic Fence and Rainmakers create easier ways for neighbors to stay up to homeowners association standards by offering exclusive reduced rates to community members. Four bedrooms and between two and a half and four bathrooms are standard among Harmony Grove homes; prices start at around $625,000 and range up to $800,000 for pond views or recent interior upgrades.

Exploring Clow Creek Greenway
“A part of Clow Creek runs through the back of the neighborhood, separating it from the community next door,” Burns says. This greenway contains acres of grassland with a waterway pooling into two ponds that attract water fowl. Meanwhile, A. George Pradel Park provides other necessities of a suburban green space: a clean playground, picnic area and baseball and soccer fields. The award-winning Tamarack Golf Club sits a mile away, with 2 18-hole championship courses available seven days a week.
