The homes of Ranch View
While driving along the residential streets of Ranch View, homeowners can expect to pass a neighbor taking their pup for a stroll along the community’s sidewalks. These sidewalks cut through front yards, creating a median where most of the neighborhood’s trees reside. Prideful ownership is apparent here through holiday displays and regularly mowed front yards, which help make up the 0.25-acre average for plot sizes. Meanwhile, backyards offer open space for patios and back decks for entertaining. Built during the late 1980s and early ‘90s, homes here showcase mostly New Traditional and Colonial-style homes, which range in price from $260,000, up to $712,000 for a larger home with updated aesthetics.Letting the pups loose at Greene Valley Dog Park
Greene Valley Forest Preserve is 1 mile east of the neighborhood. It is a popular biking spot thanks to its maintained 2.7-mile loop, the longest in the preserve. Dog owners enjoy the permit-entry dog park on the northern side of 75th Street, which offers year-round passes for frequent visitors. The community’s namesake park is where residents can expect to see neighbors practicing their swings atop one of the six tennis courts or catching live performances of famous musicals as a part of Brightside Theatre’s Summer, which works in partnership with Naperville Park District across the city’s parks. The accomplished Naperville School District 203
Chou says the schools are one of the main reasons people choose this neighborhood. "They love Ranch View because of the school rankings; they are great at all levels," she says. Kids may attend public schools in the much-sought-after Naperville School District 203. Students can walk to Ranch View Elementary School, located at the center of the neighborhood, which maintains an A-plus on Niche. Older students will attend Madison Junior High School, which holds an A rating, before heading to Naperville Central High School, which has an A-plus rating on Niche. The Hawks are home to an award-winning literary magazine, which is published in both the spring and fall. The Last Fling and Naperville Farmers Market
Downtown Naperville hosts dozens of city-wide events, including The Last Fling, a bustling celebration where attendees spend Labor Day weekend enjoying live music and catching thrills on carnival rides to close the summer season. Downtown’s 5th Avenue Train Station also sees plenty of action, as it is the site of the annual Naperville Farmers Market, a bustling spot every Saturday morning from June through October.Commuting from Ranch View
The Naperville Metra Station, located downtown along North Ellsworth Street, provides easy transport throughout the area. The station offers 30-mile trips into Chicago on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Line. However, drivers can make a similar distanced trip along Interstate 88, accessed by Interstate I-355, 4 miles east of the neighborhood. Chicago O’Hare International Airport sits 27 miles northeast, off-294. At the same time, Endeavor Health Edward Hospital off South Washington Street is a closer 5-mile drive northwest. The growth of 75th Street
75th Street borders the neighborhood to the north and continues to expand its retail and dining opportunities. “There are so many new stores,” Chou explains. “Restaurants are opening up, and new businesses are moving in.” More specifically, Market Meadows Shopping Center, which sits less than 2 miles east, is where residents go to pick up groceries from Jewel-Osco and sit down for a meal at Freedom Brothers Pizzeria & Ale House. This lively rock-and-roll-themed spot displays footage of classic rock concerts from the genre’s heyday. 3 miles farther east leads to Bollywood Bistro & Banquet, a popular spot that serves a variety of authentic Indian dishes. For retail therapy, residents peruse the big-name retailers of Fox Valley Mall, 7 miles northeast off State Route 59, or the locally owned boutiques of downtown Naperville 5 miles north.
