Gated living in North Naples

Amidst the golf courses and palm trees of Naples, Olde Cypress is a gated community surrounding a central country club. With a golf course, fine dining and Mediterranean-style clubhouse, The Club at Olde Cypress is a popular destination for weddings. But for those who live behind the gates, that’s just daily life. “The neighborhood is small and intimate, with only 540 doors. It just feels more like home,” says Diedre McClain, a Broker Associate with John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate. Having sold many homes in the community, she attests: “The staff and management at the Club genuinely care; I always say that connection goes deep in Olde Cypress.” The community is located less than 10 miles from the Gulf Coast and is near retail hubs and top-rated schools. A condo complex, Fairway Preserve, sits just down the road.

Custom-built Mediterranean homes

Homes featuring Mediterranean-inspired designs and warm color palettes complement wide green lawns and mature palm trees. But although homes have a cohesive feel — tiled roofs, stucco siding and indoor pools with glass roofs — no house is exactly the same. “Since each home was custom built and set on meandering streets, there isn’t a cookie cutter feel,” McClain says. Houses start around $900,000 and go up to $2 million, with prices varying not just due to square footage but also yard size, location and unique design features. Houses are tucked away from major roads, and residents are welcome to use personal golf carts to get around their community, on and off the course. Down the street, in a separate gated community, those looking for condo living can find $300,000 properties at Fairway Preserve.

Golf membership and more at Olde Cypress Club

At the Olde Cypress Club, the 18-hole championship golf course was designed by a well-regarded golf architect, P.B. Dye. Varying levels of golf memberships are offered, and annual tournaments are some of Olde Cypress’ most beloved events. “But you don’t have to be a golfer to live there,” assure McClain. Unlike golf memberships, social memberships are required for all residents and include a fitness center with a personal trainer, pickleball and tennis courts and community events. There are celebrations all year round. Kids enjoy winter brunch with Santa and adults can attend summer wine tastings.
