Premier gated community with golf courses and natural preserves
Pelican Marsh mixes resort-style living with the natural Florida landscape, just miles from upscale shopping, dining and the sandy shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Once home to tomato fields and tropical mangroves, the gated neighborhood began developing in the 1990s and has grown into one of Naples' premier golf course communities.
Dedication to the environment is reflected in the 133 acres of natural preserves scattered throughout residential areas and rolling golf courses. Walking paths connect homeowners to community amenities, including tennis courts and onsite restaurants. "The lifestyle is active between golf and all the other amenities," says Anita Colletti, a local Realtor with John R. Wood Christie's International Real Estate, named 2014 Realtor of the Year by the Bonita Springs-Estero Association of Realtors. "Plus, there's a vibrant social scene with live music and fine dining."

Two golf courses and eight tennis courts
Not one, but two championship-level golf courses wind throughout the neighborhood. Legendary course architect Robert Vong Hagge designed both courses, which feature gently rolling greens and naturally preserved areas. The courses have been recognized as designated Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries, meaning they actively work to protect and maintain native bird populations. Yet waterfowl aren't the only ones who appreciate the standout course.
The Pelican Marsh Golf Club hosted the 2018 U.S. Open Qualifier. Multiple levels of golfing and social memberships are available, though they are not required. "It's primarily a golfing community as that's what attracts the most homeowners," Colletti says. "But you don't have to be a golfer; that's what's great. You can join the club without being a golf member, which is nice because you don't have to pay for a golf course you're not using."
Court sports are another popular activity, and the neighborhood features eight Har-Tru clay tennis courts and four pickleball courts. The state-of-the-art fitness center offers multiple exercise classes and onsite trainers. Veterans Community Park is close by and features baseball diamonds and soccer fields. Vanderbilt Beach's sandy shores are under 4 miles away.

Expansive Spanish-Revival villas and modest Florida ranch homes
Behind the 24-hour staffed gates lie 26 subdivisions offering a variety of multi-family residences and single-family homes. "They've got everything from condos to multi-million-dollar estates," Colletti says. Housing styles range from expansive Spanish-Revival villas and coastal contemporary estates to modest Florida ranch homes with Mediterranean flair. Smaller homes sell from $900,000 to $1.5 million, while larger, newer builds range between $2 million and $5 million.
Condos and townhouses also feature Spanish-revival architecture with tiled roofs and stucco exteriors. Prices range between $600,000 and $1.2 million. No matter where homeowners end up, they will have scenic backyard views of rolling golf courses and lakes. Well-manicured landscaping is common in the front yard, as are swimming pools out back. Recreation memberships are not required, but there is a monthly HOA, and dues vary by subdivision.

The Artis Naples is an iconic performing and visual arts center 5 miles from the neighborhood that has transformed into a cultural hub for the city. "It hosts everything from the Beach Boys to other big famous acts that come like traveling Broadway shows, and the Phil Harmonic," Colletti says, "There's a nice amount of culture."
