Stately colonials and manicured lawns in Northeast Nashua
Northeast Nashua’s residential roads lead to cul-de-sacs with a variety of modern and historic homes, including flat-facade Colonials and large split levels. "We have typical New England-style homes all around Nashua. A typical four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath with a two-car garage is still the most popular type of home that people want," Kane says. Backyards often have private pools and are sheltered by mature trees that lend a sense of privacy. Large garages, finished basements and two-story residences create a neighborhood that is popular among big families who need more space. These homes often cost between $450,000 and $700,000, with a few homes on Preserve Drive that can run from $800,000 up to nearly $1 million. A series of attached and detached condos are in communities near Ferry and Ayer Roads. These units can include up to three bedrooms and often cost between $350,000 and $550,000. East of Concord Street is a series of more compact single-story homes, as well as a few two-story Colonial Revivals, that are slightly more affordable, with prices ranging from $350,000 to $600,000.Mine Falls Park riverfront trails and Greeley Park's summer concerts
Mine Falls Park has wooded paths that follow along the Nashua River waterfront. Hikers, joggers and dog walkers enjoy navigating the wooded paths, especially during autumn when the leaves begin to change. Anglers can fish for crappies and bass along the river’s edge . In winter, the park is great for cross-country skiing, and in summer, kayakers can take to the river's calm waters. Greeley Park is the major outdoor area, with an amphitheater for Nashua’s Summer Concert Series. Park visitors can make use of play areas, tennis courts, grilling stations and picnic tables. Holman Stadium is a historic spot and home to the Nashua Silver Knights collegiate baseball team. Outside the stadium, there are a few sports fields for pickup games and organized leagues. The new Nashua Center for the Arts has become a community gathering space and hosts concerts, plays, comedians and cover bands.Vocational programs for students in Nashua Public Schools

Northeast Nashua has access to major thoroughfares, like the Everett Turnpike (Route 3) and Henri A Burque Highway, which turns into Concord Street. Drivers can reach Manchester and the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport by driving 20 miles north on Route 3. If they head 50 miles south on Route 3, they can reach Boston within about an hour and a half. "We have a lot of people coming up from Massachusetts, so it’s an easy drive down to Burlington and Boston where there’s a lot of business," Kane says. "Then there are people who drive to Lowell, park their car and then take the train into Boston." Just south of most homes, Amherst Street takes shoppers west to major shopping centers and or east to Nashua’s historic Main Street. Nashua Transit System bus stops are located along Manchester and Amherst Streets for those who prefer to ride instead of drive.Old-school ice cream shops and a variety of stores on Amherst Street
On the corner of Rancourt Street and Concord Street is The Big 1 ice cream shop, known for its dozens of flavors and old-school atmosphere. The shop also has a cash-only policy and a classic takeaway window. Amherst Street is 2 miles away and is home to the city’s major shopping centers, including grocery stores like Market Basket and Whole Foods Market. There are over a dozen fast and casual chains, but locally owned spots like 110 Grill Nashua for craft brews and burgers, as well as Cedars Cafe for Mediterranean cuisine, are very popular. Locals can also head to Nashua's Main Street to sample favorites like Martha's Exchange Restaurant and Brewery or the Peddler's Daughter Irish Pub. In the evenings, the sunset bounces off historic church steeples and Victorian turrets, leaving an evening glow upon diners sitting on outside patios.
