A mix of rural landscapes and residential homes south of Nashua
West Hollis, just across the Nashua River from Hollis proper, is comprised of large family homes, a semi-rural landscape and a series of locally owned businesses. Home to the Nashua Parks and Recreation office, as well as a couple of hiking trails and a dog park, West Hollis is a mix of residential living and the great outdoors. “Everywhere you go in West Hollis is beautiful. It’s a very open area, and the homes are much bigger,” says Realtor Dan O’Donnell with Keller Williams Gateway Realty, who lives in Hollis and has almost 10 years of experience. Housing stock includes builds with Craftsman and Colonial Revival designs, as well as Cape Cods and a few condo communities. The area's location keeps residents close to Nashua’s Main Street, near the shopping centers on Amherst Street and within 22 miles of Manchester and its regional airport.
Nashua Parks and Rec leagues and conservation projects
With West Hollis’ natural landscape, there are many opportunities for outdoor recreation. Along the Nashua River, Mine Falls Park has 325 acres of forest, wetlands and open fields that visitors can explore. Locals can follow the trails that connect to the New Hampshire Heritage Trail System or go fishing along the water. On the southern tip of the park is Stellos Stadium, a facility within Nashua’s Parks & Recreation Department that hosts a variety of youth and adult recreational sports tournaments. Skaters can practice their tricks at the David W. Deane Skateboard Park across the street. At the eastern edge of the West Hollis neighborhood are Lovewell Pond and the Yudicky Farm conservation area. Visitors can go mountain biking or walk the trails surrounding the pond. They can also play a game on the softball fields nearby or bring a furry friend to the Nashua Dog Park.

Modern traditional and New England homes
Home styles in West Hollis include midcentury split levels and Colonial Revivals. Many homes were built after the 1950s and sit on spacious and well-maintained lawns. Because of these larger lots, some backyards include private pools, and a few residences benefit from additional attic bedrooms tucked into gambrel roofs. Others have garages built into the hillside or back decks overlooking the Nashua River. Most homes that range in price between $250,000 and $400,000 are modest Cape Cods or single-story ranch-style houses. Homes that cost between $500,000 and $700,000 are often new constructions in modern traditional styles, with two-car garages and neutral-toned or brick exteriors. A small selection of mid-2000s homes with four or more bedrooms can start at $800,000 and reach over $1 million. There is also a selection of condo communities on the northern end of the neighborhood, with two-to-four-bedroom units ranging from $300,000 to $600,000.

From there, they can head about 20 miles north to Manchester and the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Or they can head 50 miles south to Boston, which takes about an hour and a half during times of low traffic.
