Highways, hospitals and hills
Interstate 65’s Exit 92 leads to the North Nashville suburb of Dickerson Road, also referred to as Kemper Heights. “This neighborhood consists of the area on the east side of Dickerson Pike, but it’s not necessarily referred to as Dickerson Road. Locals will more likely consider it Kemper Heights,” explains Justin Billingham, a Realtor at Parks with 5 years of experience in the region. About another mile will conveniently bring motorists to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, a hospital that leads the nation in neuroscience located in the southern part of town. A bird's eye view of the residential areas will show leafy green trees on about 1-acre-sized lawns and 2-lane streets and backroads winding through town.
Older ranch houses and newer townhomes
Away from the highways that surround the area, red brick ranch and raised ranch homes, many with attached garages, line the streets. Some properties in the area are set back from roads on lofty-sized lots with more acreage and bright green lawns. Colonial-style homes with columns sit on hilly terrain, giving these homeowners a view of the sunrise. These ranch and colonial houses range anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000 square feet in size and $300,000 to upwards of $1.5 million in price. “There are many new construction developments in the area. Skyridge is west of Dickerson Pike, and the Yarra is a townhouse complex on the east side of 65,” says Billingham. These townhomes and Farmhouse Revivals typically cost between $300,000 to $600,000. Also, on the west side of town is the Village Hills RV & Mobile Home community.
