Navesink is in the northernmost stretch of the Jersey Shore in Middletown Township, a community with a rich history and proximity to some of the Shore's most sought-after amenities. The area features rolling hills and natural, wooded areas west of Monmouth Avenue. Navesink brings an appreciation for its history, even its name, which comes from a local band of the Lenape tribe. The King's Highway is still one of the area's defining features, running through the heart of the community and featuring several historical markers. The King's Highway was used during the American Revolutionary War during the Battle of Monmouth. Other Navesink historical landmarks include Saints' Memorial Episcopal Church, better known as the "Stone Church," dating to 1864.
