River Ridge consists of winding roads of single-family houses on well-groomed, medium-sized lots decorated with shrubs and small palm trees. Many developments feature ponds in the backyards for strolls next to relaxing fountains. River Ridge Country Club, a gated community within River Ridge, offers amenities like a golf course and a clubhouse with an outdoor pool. Architectural styles include colorfully painted villas, split-levels and bungalows. “The prices are still affordable even though it’s close to New Port Richey. It’s an upcoming area with a lot of new developments,” Evans says. Sales prices range from $180,000 for a one-bedroom villa to $543,000 for a move-in ready four-bedroom house.

Paddle on the lake at Moon Lake Park
To spend time outside in sunny Florida, locals can visit recreation spaces like Moon Lake Park, which features a beach, fishing and a boat ramp where people can launch kayaks or canoes. The Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park sprawls over hiking trails and mountain biking trails through a wide range of scenery from swamps to forests teeming with wildlife. High-marks at Pasco County Schools
Students in New Port Richey go to the Pasco County School District, which earns a B-plus rating according to Niche. “There are a lot of other positives about River Ridge. People with families like it very much because schools in the area are good,” Evans says. Schools include Cypress Elementary School, River Ridge Middle School and River Ridge High School. The elementary school earns a B-minus grade, the middle school has a B and the high school has a B-plus on Niche. The high school has unique clubs like Students Protecting Land and Sea Habitats and Royal Robotics.The annual Chasco Festival
To go to exciting community events, River Ridge residents can go to downtown New Port Richey for the Chasco Festival: an annual nine-day hometown extravaganza in March including a boat parade with floats, different genres of live music every night and a carnival with rides. About 34 miles from Tampa, residents can commute to the big city via Interstate 275 South or take a South Pasco County Public Transportation bus. In River Ridge, residents join a suburban community of manicured cul-de-sacs and plentiful outdoor recreation from hiking trails to beaches. When traveling further outside the community, residents are only 30 miles from Saint Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport.

For retail and restaurants, locals can visit the River Walk Plaza strip mall. Publix offers a spot for grocery runs, while the CVS pharmacy provides household items as well as prescriptions. For a locally owned eatery, locals can order American fare at The Urban Oak, which has a casual atmosphere combined with southern hospitality. At Zaxby's Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings, patrons may dine in a familiar chain restaurant best known for the Zax sauce and a warm atmosphere.
