Outdoor enthusiasts love Newtown for its ample green space. “It feels like you live out in nature,” Schuckman says. Beside the bend of the Little Miami River lies Riverside Park. Spanning nearly 50 acres, it offers baseball diamonds, turf fields, a hiking trail and a playground. At Moundview Park, locals can enjoy a picnic in the pavilion and visit the memorial to fallen soldiers. For a day of fishing and to observe wildlife, some head to Lake Barber. Visitors can hike the old limestone mine and then relax under shady trees.
