North Branch celebrates Farmer Day
Because there are several farms and plants within the area, the neighborhood likes to keep in touch with its roots. Farmer Day is an annual tradition that began during Spirit Week at North Branch High School and has since caught on with North Branch Elementary. Students dress up as farmers and drive their tractors to school, paying homage to the township’s agricultural identity. The ritual is a reminder of how North Branch’s agricultural identity stays strong as it moves through generations. It’s also easy to see how connected the community is through holiday festivities. The township celebrates July 4 and Christmas by rounding up lit-up vehicles and parading them through town. They show how North Branch Township is a collective, powered by the kind of friendly spirit that comes small-town life.
