Located within “the Brunswicks” section of Central Jersey, North Brunswick straddles the natural beauty of Farrington Lake and borders the bustling college town of New Brunswick. This quiet, yet highly desirable township offers suburban tranquility and commuter conveniences to homeowners for regionally competitive prices.

Named in honor of Great Britain's King George I, who was the Duke of Brunswick, North Brunswick has its origins in the 1770s, on the eve of the American Revolutionary War. Long a milling town, North Brunswick evolved into a commuter hub with the advent of the highways. Local Realtor Andrew Zastko, a lifelong resident of North Brunswick, says that North Brunswick is “halfway between Philadelphia and New York, and near the vibrant corporate quarters of Trenton, New Brunswick, and Somerset. There’s a lot of cultural history and diversity, and it’s a great place to live.” This suburban boom has brought with it several benefits. Zastko says, “The real demand in North Brunswick is because of its good school systems; it’s a great suburban area to live, with a variety of housing, and it’s close for people who commute in and out of the city. It’s close to rail and bus lines, and highways and byways.”

North Brunswick’s situational convenience is matched by an abundance of housing options, each within concentrated communities. Zastko says of the neighborhood’s housing profile, “The area is split between Route 1, Route 130, and Route 27, and, in between, there are all types of clusters of housing, from town houses to single families.” These homes vary from colonials to ranch-style homes, typically sell for upwards of $450,000, in line with the county median.

This community offers a wide variety of local amenities, from shopping centers to parks and major roads. The North Brunswick Community Park includes baseball fields, a playground, trails for hiking and jogging, and even a dog park allowing for residents to enjoy the outdoors with their furry friends. Farrington Lake, created in 1918 as a freshwater reservoir, is surrounded by hiking trails for those looking to experience nature up close, and fishers can observe pickerel, catfish, bass, and many other species of fish in this oasis of aquatic life.

Shopping is another major attraction in North Brunswick, which features shopping centers such as The Shoppes and the Commerce Center. Those looking for a fun night out can catch the latest blockbuster at the Regal Commerce Center theater, while grocery runs are made easy by the presence of a Trader Joe’s at The Shoppes and a BJ’s Wholesale Club at the Commerce Center.

North Brunswick’s students attend one of five elementary schools, North Brunswick Township Middle School, and North Brunswick Township High School, a National Blue Ribbon-awarded school with strong academics and diversity.

North Brunswick residents enjoy proximity to the state’s greatest attractions; in Zastko’s words, North Brunswick is “close to the shore, an hour from the beach, and less than an hour from the mountains.” With direct access to Highway 1 and proximity to the New Jersey Turnpike, North Brunswick provides its residents with an easy commute to any destination, and the capacity to enjoy adventures across the Garden State.
