North Randall blends economic expansion with rural racing roots
North Randall is no longer the modest farmer community it used to be. This suburban area has grown into a village worth being a part of while maintaining some of its historical charms. Since 1925 the Jack Thistledown Racino, a horse racetrack, has kept the practice of breeding horses alive. With the addition of the track and Amazon's fulfillment center, there has been an increase in the overall economic development over the years. "Amazon has attracted people and created jobs," says Kiesha Wagner, Realtor with Keller Williams Living.
Northfield Road offers shopping, fitness and island cuisine
You can find almost everything you want along Northfield Road, from grocery shopping at Aldi to working up a sweat at Planet Fitness. When you're hungry, satisfy your newest craving along the commercial strip. Whether you want something from a fast-food chain or a local eatery, you'll be in luck. Caribbean Delight serves an assortment of traditional island dishes, including oxtails, chicken curry and jerked chicken. For a refreshing drink afterward or a vegan alternative, stop by Juicy Vegan a few minutes down the road.
Dense streets have ranch-style homes and limited inventory
The commercial district comprises most of the community, leaving about eight densely packed residential blocks primarily of ranch-style homes. On Emery Road, you'll spot most homes featuring three bedrooms and one bath, with prices ranging between $133,000 to $189,000. The modest size has contributed to the low inventory of the residential sector.
Warrensville Heights schools support college readiness
Families with children can send them to the neighboring Warrensville Heights City School District for public education. The district's three schools have received a College Success Award from GreatSchools for its aid in encouraging students to pursue higher education. They can start learning their ABCs at Warrensville Heights Elementary School on Clarkwood Parkway. The rest of their quest for knowledge can continue at Warrensville Heights Middle and Warrensville Heights High. The Warrensville Heights Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library's innovation center provides hands-on learning opportunities with advanced software, technology and production equipment. For fun, children can head to the Warrensville Heights YMCA.
Civic center yoga, bingo and park playgrounds keep locals active
To engage with the local community, keep an eye out for the weekly events at the North Randall Civic Center including senior meetings, bingo and yoga, a perfect way to wind down after a busy day. When you want to escape the urban jungle, take a trip to Orange Village Park, 3 miles away. Those with children can bring them to play at the playground with age-appropriate sets for younger and older kids to explore. Or bring your dog for a walk along the paved trailhead. In the winter months, stop by to admire the seasonally changing trees.
