Oxford's unique architecture and walkable downtown

As one of the oldest counties in the original thirteen states, Oxford’s history dates back to The Tuscarora War in 1711 when the Tuscarora People and European settlers fought over the land. In 1764, Oxford became the county seat of Granville County, a position it still holds today. Oxford’s unique historic architecture is a point of pride for the town, as are the small businesses downtown. During the 2020 census, Oxford had a population of over 8,500. Revlon cosmetics operates the largest manufacturing facility in Oxford, and many other national and international corporations are developing in town thanks to North Carolina’s incentives.
