Seaside living in Hollywood Beach
Seaside living 68 miles north of Los Angeles is available in Hollywood Beach. Located on the south end of the peninsula that separates Channel Islands Harbor from the Pacific, the quiet neighborhood is set on a mile-long stretch of sandy beach. Many choose the area as the spot for their vacation home, while others live the coastal lifestyle year-round. Hollywood Beach earned its name from a star-studded past. During the silent movie era, the beach's dunes were the backdrop for stories set in exotic lands. After Rudolph Valentino filmed The Shiek here, fans swooped in to visit the deserted dunes and stayed for the beautiful beaches and temperate climate. Today, the neighborhood strikes a balance between laid-back serenity and community spirit, offering residents life by the sea. "It's close to everything," says local realtor Desti Centino. "You can walk to the beach and the harbor. It's a very close community; sometimes you'll wear your arm out just by walking down the street and waving at neighbors."
Live steps from the ocean
Life in Hollywood Beach is all about embracing the waterfront experience, with many homes coming with docks where they can keep their boats. This is no cookie-cutter community, with a mix of architectural styles lining up any given street. Modern, Art Deco, and Mediterranean architecture are just some of the styles that can be found in the area; all homes are within walking distance from the ocean. In addition to single-family houses, condominiums with resort-style amenities can be found in the area. Home prices range from $395,000 all the way up to $4.4 million.
