Children in the area attend Mar Vista Elementary School, which has an overall Niche grade of D. Next, kids attend Ocean View Junior High School, which has an overall Niche grade of C-minus. Teenagers attend Channel Island High School, which has an overall Niche grade of B-minus. Students don't have to travel far for post-secondary education, as Oxnard College is just a few minutes west of the neighborhood. Founded in 1975, this fully accredited community college offers certificate programs and over 50 associate degrees in various fields.

An annual Strawberry Festival at the Ventura County Fairgrounds
The California Strawberry Festival, held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, is a beloved local event. The festival features over 40 food vendors, a ninja obstacle course, live music, several arts and crafts booths and an abundance of strawberry-inspired treats.
