Hugging Vineyard Avenue, Windsor North River Ridge sits at the edge of Oxnard where it’s bordered by the Santa Clara River. Here, residents are treated to life along the lush River Ridge Golf Club greens. The course is known for having two 18-hole courses, but even non-golfers appreciate the scenic views it brings to the neighborhood, with stately Spanish-style homes overlooking the fairways. “There are some gated communities that feel secluded, but they’re still conveniently located. Windsor North is near the Collection, which has a lot of upscale shopping, entertainment venues and a Whole Foods,” says Lucy Rodriguez, a Realtor with Re/Max Gold Coast who has sold homes across Oxnard. It’s also the place to go for a night out; on date night, locals might head to the Cinemark to catch the latest flick or to Levity Live for stand-up comedy shows. There are plenty of food options, ranging from chains like Yard House and Lazy Dog to local vendors in the food hall such as Silverlake Ramen or Two Hands Corn Dogs.

Bus stops along the edge of the neighborhood also make it easy for residents to catch the Gold Coast Transit routes 19 and 23, which stop at locations such as St. John’s Hospital, Oxnard College and Ventura County Naval Base. “There’s also a Tesla charging station just down Ventura Road, which many people find convenient,” Rodriguez adds. The Oxnard train station is a 10-minute drive south into the heart of town and provides Metrolink transit to LA and Burbank Airport.
