While most of the neighborhood houses were built between 1975 and 1990, many have been remodeled with modern interiors and backyards often feature amenities like in-ground pools. A select few contemporary homes in Gene Autry were built after 2000. The neighborhood falls under the Palm Springs Unified School District, and most local kids will start at Vista del Monte Elementary School, which gets a B-minus on Niche. They can move on to B-rated Raymond Cree Middle School before heading to A-minus-rated Palm Springs High School.
