People like to swim and fish,” says Dave Donnan, a Realtor at the Ryno Company with more than 25 years of experience. Butte Creek runs through the neighborhood, providing a year-round place to fish or boat. For those who like to hike, active residents and visitors from out of town enjoy exploring Butte Creek Ecological Preserve. The Butte Creek Watershed Overlook provides sweeping views of the Sierra Nevada foothills and valleys. The Camp Fire of 2018 destroyed the historic Honey Run Covered Bridge, but Butte County has plans to rebuild this landmark site. The neighborhood is full of open natural space shared by all kinds of residents. “There’s lots of wildlife up there,” says Voigt. “Lots of people get into bird watch, but there’s also bears and mountain lions, so that’s something to think about.”

State highway connects Butte Creek Canyon with other cities
State Route 99, known in the area as the Golden State Highway, runs past the neighborhood's western border.
