Hidden River
Neighborhood in Parker, Colorado
Douglas County 80138
Neighborhood of new traditionals with varying gables and siding
New traditionals sit in cul-de-sacs, some with a low-pitched side gable, like Prairie homes, and others with varied pitch and multiple front gables. Exterior compositions also vary, with many blending siding and stone or brick. Many homes have three to six bedrooms and an attached two-car garage. Home prices range from $525,000 to $930,000, and all residents must pay the homeowners association about $100 monthly, funding trash and recycling services.Tallman Gulch Trail connects playgrounds and ball fields
According to Maddox, the neighborhood’s playgrounds, swimming pool, clubhouse, and tennis and pickleball courts are all maintained with the homeowners association payments. Iron Horse Park is tied to the neighborhood by trail and has additional ball fields. Tallman Meadow Park has a Western theme, from its wooden picnic shelter to the playground, with a baseball and multipurpose grassy field. The Tallman Gulch Trail’s concrete surface cuts through the gulch between Hidden River and Tallman Meadow Park, totaling about 3 miles.Hidden River’s zoned Douglas County schools and EDGE at Legend High

Downtown Parker is the center for art and entertainment, with Parker Arts selling tickets for live theatrical performances and the Studio at Mainstreet hosting musicians. “[Downtown hosts] Art in the Park and movie nights in the summer, where you can get lawn chairs and watch on the big screen,” Maddox says. “They also have a farmers market every Sunday from around Mother’s Day to Halloween, when the snow starts falling.” Parker Days is a popular celebration hosted in Downtown Parker over Father’s Day weekend that has drawn crowds since the 1970s when it was a small community fair. “[It’s] a big festival with a carnival and tons of concerts. It reminds me of miniature Frontier Days in Wyoming, so kind of a mini version without the rodeo,” Maddox says. “The kids love it. On that opening weekend, they do a parade down Mainstreet.”Drives along Parker Road and RTD access
Parker Road connects the neighborhood to the greater Denver area, running north about 25 miles to the city’s center and about 30 miles to the Denver International Airport. Planes depart for over 200 domestic and international destinations. Restaurants in these plazas range from fast food chains to locally owned ones with regularly scheduled live music, such as Wildgoose Saloon. Both Safeway and Natural Grocers are nearby. Downtown Parker is about 2 miles away, and its Mainstreet is at the center of retail, dining and entertainment in Parker. Here, dining options vary from Parker Garage, which uses seasonal ingredients, to Spice Kitchen with Indian and Nepali food. Swirls Frozen Yogurt and Kilwins ice cream and fudge shop are nearby.
