Idyllwilde
Modern Craftsman near walking trails and local amenities
Idyllwilde has well-maintained asphalt streets laid out in a grid pattern, featuring speed bumps, tree-shaded sidewalks and a few crosswalks. Most homes were constructed between the early 2000s and 2020s and have green, manicured lawns, some with wooden split rail fences around them. Some are close to trails branching from Discover Park near the north border. “It’s a hilly area, so there’s lots of opportunity for mountain and city views,” Teitelbaum says. Housing styles include modern Craftsman and new traditional properties with brick, wood and vinyl exteriors. These feature open, front porches, two to three-car garages and an occasional firepit. Homes with less square footage and smaller lots range between $550,000 and $750,000, while larger homes with more yard space are priced from $800,000 and $1.2 million. Homes are also a part of the Idyllwilde Homeowners Association, and people can expect to pay between $130 and $350 in monthly HOA fees, which cover snow removal services and recycling. Residents also have access to a gym, community pool and the Fika Coffee House.National cheer champs at Legend High
The area is zoned for the Douglas County School District, which receives an A-minus from Niche. Kids start at Pioneer Elementary and move on to Cimarron Middle, both earning a B-plus from Niche. Legend High scores an A-minus and is known for its several sports teams. In 2024, the Legend Titan Football Team was runner-up in the 5A State Title Championship game, and the Legend High School Cheer squad won the National High School Cheerleading Championships in 2025.Playing bridge at Grand Hall and hiking in Tallman Meadow Park
Teitelbaum says locals here use the Grand Hall—the area’s community clubhouse—frequently for book club meetings, a game of bridge and just to fellowship. Nearby Discovery Park has a small playground, and the 12-acre Tallman Meadow Park features a baseball diamond, another grassy, multi-use field and several paved hiking trails that weave into the neighborhood. Folks can drive 4 miles west toward the 160-acre Salisbury Equestrian Park to bike along the roughly 8-mile-long Chery Creek Regional Trail, practice or play on the baseball fields or go horseback riding in the arena grandstand. For more indoor activities, the Parker Arts, Culture and Events Center holds rotating art exhibits, theatre performances and musical concerts.Grabbing croissants at Poulette Bakeshop and used novels at Poor Richard’s Book Shoppe
Idyllwilde isn’t far from small eateries and shops near Parker Road to the west and Main Street about 4 miles north. Poulette Bakeshop whips up French croissants and cakes and has been recognized by several local and national media outlets for its sweets. In 2024, the shop was a semifinalist for The James Beard Awards in the “Best Pastry Chef and Baker” category, and the New York Times named it one of the best bakeries in the U.S. Parker Center shopping mall has several local businesses like Portofino Pizza and Pasta, serving freshly made mozzarella and authentic Italian dishes and the family-owned Poor Richard’s Book Shoppe selling used books and collectibles. Safeway and Walmart Supercenter are also close by.Quick access to downtown and biking on Canterberry
Downtown Parker is about 3 miles north via Club Drive. People can bike along the Canterberry Parkway, a heavily traveled thoroughfare connecting to other parts of town. AdventHealth Parker is about 5 miles north of Idyllwilde, and Denver International Airport is 32 miles north via E-470, which can be accessed a few miles from the neighborhood.Browsing vendors at the Parker Farmer’s Market
The Idyllwilde Homeowners Association hosts various block parties and holiday celebrations throughout the year, but other city events are held near the neighborhood. From May to October, residents frequent the Parker Farmer’s Market every Sunday in downtown. Dozens of vendors set up booths along Main Street to sell farm-raised produce, flowers and artwork. The annual Mayor’s Holiday Lighting event also takes place downtown near O’Brien Park toward the end of November. Residents gather in the park to hear local chorales sing, look at intricate ice sculptures on display and visit Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
