Within a few miles of the neighborhood, there are several abandoned gold mines that helped put Perris on the map during the California Gold Rush. Today, some of these mines are open for tours and do not seem to pose any health threats to residents. The rugged terrain of nearby mountains makes it difficult for residents to get around without a car. Highway 74 is a main road that locals can use to access the medical center, Perris Urgent Care. This state highway connects to Interstate 15, which residents can take to Ontario International Airport in fewer than 40 miles. Although a car is the most common form of transportation, the Perris Downtown Metrolink Station is less than 5 miles away and provides residents an alternative way to access surrounding counties.
