Quiet community appeals to commuters
A tight-knit community on the outskirts of Baltimore, Perry Hall is known for having the oldest civic association in northeast Baltimore County, dating back to 1945. Primarily filled with suburbs, locals living in Perry Hall are drawn to the distance from the city lights while still having a convenient commute. “I bought my first house in Perry Hall,” says Lee Tessier of the Lee Tessier Team of EXP Realty. “People like the area because it’s not too far from Towson, I-95, Route 1. It’s convenient and close to a lot of Baltimore County employers, like Black & Decker, McCormick and MedStar.”

For more extensive shopping options, people head to White Marsh Mall to browse the aisles at stores like H&M, Macy’s and Boscov’s. Next door is one of two IKEA stores in Maryland. Locals have abundant options when it comes to casual eateries. “Liberatore’s, Looney’s and Desantis Pizza Grill & Bar are all big draws in the area,” says Laura Snyder, a Realtor with American Premier Realty who has sold nearly 30 homes in Perry Hall. People can pick up a pie at Desantis, catch a game at Looney’s or meet friends over a plate of pasta at Liberatore’s. Other popular spots include Taste of Taj, which serves authentic Indian dishes. Honeygo Run Park is anchored by a 13,000-square-foot indoor recreation center where locals can take fitness classes or join a recreational league team. With multiple wooded trails, spanning a quarter mile to nearly 1.5 miles, the expansive green space is also a favorite among bikers and hikers. Convenient commutes to Baltimore
With ample local amenities, a suburban ambiance and plenty of things to do, Perry Hall provides the convenience of city living without all the fuss. “It really appeals to people who want to be out of the city but is still a great spot for commuters,” Snyder says.
