Perry offers small-town living with access to I-35 and OKC
Perry is the seat of Oklahoma’s Noble County, about 65 miles north of Oklahoma City . Highway access makes it easy to get to the capital, especially its northern suburbs. “If we want to go somewhere, we just pop right on I-35,” says Brett Powers, broker and owner of Powers Real Estate, who was raised in Perry. “You can run to Edmond and do all your shopping and come back to peace and quiet.” Home to 4,500 residents, Perry is best known as the headquarters of the Ditch Witch construction equipment manufacturing company, initially established in 1948. The manufacturer is now a subsidiary of The Toro Company and employs over 1,000 workers, but many other job opportunities are within 25 to 50 miles. "Most people are commuters," Powers says. “We have a bunch of small towns around us like Stillwater , Enid , and Ponca City ."

Mix of ranch-style and Craftsman homes with wooded backyards
Perry’s central residential streets feature a blend of 1920s Craftsman-style and midcentury ranch-style and split-level homes. Many properties include driveways and wooded backyards, and most homes on the western edge of town are within walking distance of Perry’s public schools. Sidewalks border some roads near the schools, churches and downtown commerce but become rare on narrow side streets. Close to downtown, lots typically measure up to half an acre, but properties measuring 5 acres are available on the rural outskirts. Cottages and investment properties cost $45,000 to $80,000, while small ranch-style homes sell for $80,000 to $160,000. Larger Craftsman and ranch-style or split-level builds typically cost $170,000 to $275,000. Some New Contemporary builds have been added to the mix in the past 25 years; these fetch prices in the $265,000 to $400,000 range. Perry is in the area known as Tornado Alley, and siren testing takes place every Thursday. Homes with basements or storm shelters can help protect residents when twisters strike.

Highways link residents to city amenities and the OKC airport
Along with Ditch Witch, top employers include Perry Public Schools and Perry Memorial Hospital, both located in the city. U.S. Routes 64 and 77 connect in the heart of town to link residents to nearby cities. It’s a 50-mile drive to Edmond via Interstate 35, but more retail and dining options are available in Enid, about 40 miles away. Community events and day care supplement church services
A brick building with a tall steeple welcomes parishioners to Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, which hosts fellowships and potlucks throughout the year. Christ Lutheran Church is on North 7th Street across from its affiliated day-care center, and residents in this neighborhood contend with noise from church bells that chime every hour.
