Limited inventory makes Glenfield's housing market competitive
Glenfield's elegant early 20th-century homes rest behind sidewalks and spacious grassy yards. Many face the railroad tracks and the interstate, so you can expect a hum of transit sounds here. Several residences back up to the river, a desirable spot for outdoorsy buyers. Late 1800s homes waiting for a few repairs cost $50,000 to $200,000, depending on the condition. Grander estates with 3,000 square-foot layouts, river access and character-rich interiors inch into the $500,000s. Limited inventory can lead to a competitive market; most well-priced homes sell within a month. "It's really tough to get in on the riverfront," Paul says.
