In South Dixie, residents are close to the ocean and an up-and-coming downtown area in Pompano Beach. “They’re making Pompano’s downtown into a street like Las Olas,” says broker Jon Kroll, owner of Kroll Realty, referring to the popular entertainment and shopping destination in Fort Lauderdale. “There are some high-end restaurants coming. The Community Redevelopment Agency is really in the process of renovating the whole city.” Additionally, South Dixie is the home of many of Pompano Beach’s public resources, like the library, city government and performing arts center.
