Presque Isle is a local hub city with several events, the biggest being the Crown of Maine Balloon Festival in August. With over 20 years of history, this event includes a 5k race and a golf tournament highlighted by the sight of hot air balloons. “You can see at least twenty balloons in the sky at any time from anywhere in the city,” Kieffer-Till says. Presque Isle also has a rotating block party with Caribou, where each week, the cities switch off on closing part of downtown and filling it with live music, vendors and food.

According to Presque Isle’s 2023 annual report, the city saw a 20% increase in overall incidents and cases between 2022 and 2023.
