Less than 3 miles from City Park and Pueblo Riverwalk
In the neighborhood is Bruner Park, a 5-acre green space with a playground and basketball court within walking distance of some homes. Three miles west, City Park spans 157 acres, with baseball and softball fields, tennis courts and bocce ball courts. The park’s disc golf course is recognized as one of the best in the state for its terrain and landscaping. Families can enjoy the afternoon in City Park’s swimming pool or at the Pueblo Zoo, also within the park. Golfers can tee up at the 18 holes at Elmwood Golf Course. Two miles north is the Pueblo Riverwalk, which has become a prime destination for a stroll and water activities on Lake Elizabeth. “The Riverwalk has a grassy area where you can chill out and listen to music,” says longtime resident and business owner Nicki Hart. “It’s an ongoing project, where what you see today might not be what you’ll see a couple of months from now.”

STEM courses offered at Central High School
Neighborhood students can walk to Heritage Elementary School, which earns a C grade from Niche. Sixth through eighth-grade students can attend Pueblo Academy of Arts, a C-minus school. Pueblo Central High earns a C grade from Niche. The STEM school provides Project Lead the Way courses in biomedical, engineering and computer science fields. After graduation, Pueblo Community College offers over 70 programs.

Home to Colorado State Fair
Every year in late August, people gather in Heritage for the Colorado State Fair. The ten-day fair draws thousands from across the state and nationwide to the state fairgrounds in the neighborhood, and it includes competitions like livestock and poetry, carnival rides, fair foods and lively entertainment. Outside the fair are a couple of simple events for entertainment. “There’s a car show there once a year. People can rent it out and have weddings. Then there’s an indoor arena with dirt floors ideal for monster trucks,” says Donna Austin, broker/associate at RE/MAX of Pueblo.
The Colorado State Fair is a great place to bring friends and loved ones.

Easy Access to Interstate 25
Bordering the neighborhood are State Route 96 and Northern Avenue both lead to Interstate 25. This interstate travels north to south through the state and mountain region, reaching Denver and Colorado Springs in 113 and 42 miles respectively. Pueblo Transit has a couple of bus stops around all the Avenues.
