Lakeview
Neighborhood in Pueblo, Colorado
Pueblo County 81004
Variety of early 20th century architecture
Homes in Lakeview were built mostly in the early 20th century, which is typical in Pueblo. “Houses are affordable around there, mostly two stories single families and few ranches,” Mayo says. “Some homes back up to Lake Minnequa where you have a view.” Midcentury ranches with two to three bedrooms are the dominant style, and prices range from $129,000 to $275,000. Craftsman bungalows cost between $185,000 and $345,000 and two-story brick homes can go for $200,000 to $300,000. Some of the newer properties are construction from 2023, usually manufactured home priced around $250,000. Front lawns have either shamrock-green grass or dirt; with either driveways or garages next to them.Close by to Pueblo's largest parks
While Lakeview has no parks, residents are close to some of the largest and most popular parks in Pueblo. To the south, Lake Minnequa Veteran’s Memorial Park stretches 270 acres. Cyclists and joggers exercise along the 2.5-mile looped trail around the lake, and competitive soccer games often happen around the turf field. Three miles away is the 157-acre City Park, where families spend the afternoon cooling off in the swimming pool or seeing the animals at the Pueblo Zoo. City Park also has a skate park and disc golf course, and the nearby public Elmwood Golf Course has 18 holes. Aside from the golf course there’s a pro shop and restaurant.Home to Corwin International Magnet School
Neighborhood students can start their education at Columbian Elementary and Pueblo Academy of Arts. Both schools earn a C-minus grade from Niche. Another option is the Corwin International Magnet School, a B-minus rated International Baccalaureate school for fourth through eighth graders. The magnet school is the only fourth through eighth school in Southern Colorado. Diplomas are earned from Central High School, which has a C rating.A mile from the Colorado State Fairgrounds
Lakeview is a mile from the Colorado State Fairgrounds. Thousands come out in August for the ten-day fair, which has live performances, carnival rides, fair foods and livestock competitions. “Depending on where you live, it can be too far to walk to the State Fair, but parking is reasonable,” Mayo says. Friday Night Lights are also a huge tradition for Puebloans. Everyone gets excited for the annual Bell Game, the anticipated matchup between longtime rivals Central High and Centennial High. The teams battle for bragging rights to cheer “The Bell Rings Red” or “The Bell Rings Blue.”Head up Northern Ave to reach I-25
Drivers can reach Interstate 25 by heading east on Northern Avenue. Pueblo Transit has a few bus stops scattered around the main roads for those traveling locally. In the event of an emergency, the St. Mary Corwin Medical Center and other healthcare offices are off Lakeview Ave.Lakeview bordered by several local joints
Mozo’s Great American Heroes is a neighborhood deli with menu items named after notable American public figures such as Susan B. Anthony and Ben Franklin. In addition to various Mexican staples, Casa De Burritos offers breakfast burritos and its take on the Pueblo Slopper. Collette’s Catering and Carry-out has served Italian favorites like meatballs, lasagna and chicken parmesan for over 50 years. Paleteria Y Neveria Alaska is the spot for sweet treats like ice cream and milkshakes. Off Northern Avenue are a handful of auto service stores and grocers like King Soopers and Safeway.
