An easy commute and mix of cultures in Kew Gardens Hills
Kew Gardens Hills, in central Queens, is all about convenience and community, according to Shlomo Meirov, an agent and the owner of Olam Realty Group. “We’re situated right next to all the major highways and public transportation, so it gives people an easy commute if they have to go to the city,” says Meirov, who lives in the area. “Like many parts of Queens, we have a mix of different cultures and backgrounds and a variety of foods and customs and traditions.” The neighborhood is also home to Queens College, part of the City University of New York, and its Kupferberg Center for the Arts, which presents student work alongside bold-faced names such as singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega and author Joyce Carol Oates.

“The biggest draw of the neighborhood is transportation,” Colasuonno says. “If you need to get to points east, you have the Grand Central Parkway and you're right near the Long Island Expressway. If you're going north, you can jump on the Grand Central, the JFK or even RFK bridge, or you can head to the Whitestone Bridge really easily as well.” Residents can also take an E or F train to Midtown Manhattan in about 30 minutes or take the Long Island Rail Road from the Kew Gardens station.
