Winding suburban streets next to Long Island
Little Neck is a small, pizza-slice shaped neighborhood on the northeast edge of Queens near Long Island. Its primarily residential streets create a slow-paced atmosphere that’s occasionally broken up by crossing thoroughfares with businesses and public buses, plus a Long Island Rail Road train that reaches Manhattan in just over 30 minutes. “You have access to all the shopping on Northern Boulevard and the parks as if you lived in a city. And it’s a very walkable city,” says Gio Mangano, a resident and real estate agent with over 15 years of experience. “But when you come home, you have that suburban retreat. We’re as suburban as you can get in Queens.”
Little Neck is a serene haven, offering tranquility in the midst of the bustling city.

Well-maintained colonials and new construction trends
The northern half of Little Neck, above the Long Island Expressway, has a mix of colonials and new traditional-style houses, along with eye-catching Mediterranean Revival estates. Houses in the southern half are a little boxier and less grandiose, and across these styles, prices range from around $800,000 to over $1.6 million. According to Mangano, new construction on oversized lots is a growing trend. “The small ranches on 50-by-100 lots are really desirable,” she says. “They’ll sell for $800,000, and contractors will level them and start from scratch.” Brick multifamily houses throughout the neighborhood start around $1 million and go up to $1.8 million. On the south side, Deepdale Gardens is a 60-acre co-op complex with nearly 1,400 units across about 100 buildings. Prices for these, as well as units in a pair of mid-rise co-op buildings on the east side, range from $200,000 to $400,000.
Little Neck is known for its multi-level Colonial homes with column-lined or arched entryways.

I have lived in Little Neck my whole life. I find that it is a very pleasant neighborhood and that there is a lot of diversity. It is safe and has great school districts. It is the perfect in between, Long Island and the city.

I have always felt safe in this area. There is very little crime. After living there for years I believe there was only 1 attempted house robbery. Most people have alarms, almost every block has a household that keeps a dog in the yard which is a deterrent, and part of the neighborhood is patrolled by private security. When walking late at night I never feel threatened and there is usually cars on the main roads surrounding the neighborhood.

Unfortunately I only speak English. It isn't an inclusive area anymore. It's very sad that it's no longer diverse as it was for decades. This isn't being prejudice it's feeling a sense of community which Little Neck has lost for a portion of the population

Really quiet, suburban neighborhood. There are a decent amount of cafes here to study and hang out with friends.
