Why Five Points is a great place to live in Raleigh

Five roads converge in Five Points, serving as an area landmark and giving this Raleigh community its name. As one of Raleigh’s pricier neighborhoods, people living here enjoy a great location close to Raleigh’s top attractions and beautiful homes that date as far back as the early 1900s. People living here enjoy walkability to well-loved local businesses and hangout spots – including those around the neighborhood’s distinctive intersection. The area is also zoned for top-rated public schools and has several parks in and around its boundaries, adding to its desirability.

That said, some neighborhoods bordering Five Points, such as Fallon Park and Hayes Barton, have even higher medians, above $1 million.

Homes range from historic Bungalows to modern infills

Craftsman-style bungalows and American Foursquares with covered front porches are common in Five Points, and most were built between the early- and mid-20th century. These well-maintained and often renovated properties line the community’s quiet, tree-lined streets. That said, there are some newer homes and townhouses featuring modern styles throughout.

Five Points has a friendly vibe with an eclectic mix of old and new

With walkability to well-loved businesses and long-term residents, Five Points has a strong community atmosphere. “There are some people who have lived here forever and ever and would never move because they’re in the heart of everything,” says Jamie Buckley, broker at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. “There's a lot of little nooks in Five Points. Larry’s Coffee is literally on a dirt road, but everyone knows about it. That’s the main place you can get coffee.” The mix of older homes and newer infill builds adds to the neighborhood’s eclectic vibe. “There is a historic overlay for Five Points, but it kind of has a modern feel,” Rich says.

Outdoor spaces include Roanoke Park and Fallon Park
